Several methods available for changing the background image in Grub. However, here we will use the file manager to make the changes. Here we are using the default gnome file manager Nautilus on Ubuntu OS.

Grub only supports PNG, JPG, and TGA image types. Always use ant type PNG image files for good results. Otherwise, you should use an 8-bit (256 colors) unindexed JPG / JPEG image.

First, copy the PNG image file that you want to use as the background image.

Then open the system’s default file manager as the root user. On Ubuntu, the default file manager is Nautilus. Therefore, open Nautilus as the root. To do this, open a terminal application (ctrl + alt + t) and run the following command.

sudo nautilus

If you are using another file manager, the syntax is. Just replace the file manager name with your real name.

sudo name-of-the-file-manager

next, File system root Or Other Locations-> Computer

Just paste the new copied image here.

Then close all file manager windows.

Then open a terminal (ctrl + alt + t) and use this command to update grub.

sudo update-grub

grub update

Reboot the system and check the background image.
