Want to change the background wallpaper of your GDM login screen? Graphical tools for doing this are Ubuntu 20.04, Ubuntu 20.10, and Pop! _OS 20.04, Pop! It is located at _OS20.10.
Since Ubuntu 20.04, the CSS code is packaged in a .gresource file, so changing the background of the login screen is not easy. Thanks to the community, some scripts have been created to run the job from the command line.
To make life easier, there is a graphical tool called GDM background You can change the GDM background with just a few clicks.
The software is very simple and provides a small window with only settings and restore buttons. Even if you don’t have a button to open the file, you still need to drag and drop the desired wallpaper image from the file manager into the app window.
1.) To install the tool, first open the terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) from the system app launcher. Once open, run the command and select Get .debpakage.
- For Ubuntu 20.04:
- For Ubuntu 20.10.
- Pop! For _OS 20.04:
- Pop! For _OS 20.10.
2.) Then use the command to install deb from your system.
sudo apt install ./gdm-background*.deb
Once installed, search for and open the GDM background from the app launcher. Drop the image image into the app window and[設定]Click the button.
Enter your user password when prompted. You will also see a button to restart GDM to apply your changes. Note: The current session will be logged out, so[OK]Please save your work before clicking.
