Smilla Enlarger, a free, open source image magnification tool, has seen its first update in over 10 years.
SmillaEnlarger is a small graphical tool based on Qt that resizes bitmaps and enlarges them, especially with high quality. The algorithm used is the developer’s own invention.
SmillaEnlarger 0.9.1 is the first release for over 10 years and features Qt 5 ports.
The source tarball and Mac OS package can be downloaded from the links below.
Compiling the software is easy, just do:
- Get the source tarball, open the Downloads folder and extract the tarball.
- In the file browser, navigate to the source “smillaenlarger-0.9.1” folder.
- Right click on the blank area and select “Open in Terminal”
When the terminal opens, run the following commands one at a time to build the image magnifying tool.
Finally, use the command to launch the software in a terminal window.
