In WSL Windows subsystem on Linux, after updating Ubuntu, when I try to add a key using sudo apt-key add I get a “gpg: can’t connect to the agent: IPC connect call failed” error You must to do something before you go on. This is easy to solve. This is due to a bug in the Linux Windows subsystem. Follow these steps to resolve this error. To resolve this issue, try adding the key manually.
Add the following command in the command line of Ubuntu terminal. Here you can replace “YOUR_KEY_HERE” with your GPG key.
curl -sL "http://keyserver.ubuntu.com/pks/lookup?op=get&search=YOUR_KEY_HERE" | sudo apt-key add
