How to add a. a YouTube Video in a Word Document

Use a mix of media in your Word doc is a great way to provide additional context for your work and make your document more engaging. How to add a. a YouTube Video to a Microsoft Word document.

Insertion of a YouTube Video in your Word Document, open the browser of your choice (such as Chrome) and go to YouTube website. search for YouTube Video you want to use by typing the name of the video in the search bar. Click the search button or just press Enter.

Next, highlight the video’s URL in the browser’s address bar by clicking on it and dragging the cursor over the text. Right-click and then choose Copy from the context menu.

Alternatively, you can copy the video’s embed code. To get the embed code, click the Share button below the video.

Select “Embed” in the sharing window.

The Embed Video window appears. Click “Copy” to copy the code to your clipboard. If you optionally want to start the video at a specific time, activate the check box next to “Start at” and enter the desired time.

Open with the url copied to your clipboard or embed code Word.

Click the Insert tab on the top toolbar, then select Online Video from the Media group.

The Insert Video dialog box appears. Paste the URL or embed code into the text box (Ctrl + V or right-click> Paste), then click Paste.

All the normal video controls you would find on top YouTube are also available for the video pasted in your Microsoft Word document.
