How to add block quotes in Microsoft Word

Block quotes are used to indent a quoted comment and separate it from your own text. Unlike normal indentation, adding block quotations in Microsoft Word requires a few additional steps.

Since academic writing is written to strict styling standards, the requirements for block quotations are in Word differ from style to style. Fortunately, you can resize all indents using the ruler or the Paragraph settings in the Layout menu or in the Paragraph settings panel.

How to use rulers in Microsoft Word

Use the layout menu
