This brief tutorial shows how to apply blur effects to GNOME Shell UI elements in Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.
Want to enable background blur effect in Gnome? The Blyr extension can perform jobs on activities, panels, and app launch screens.
To install the extension, do the following steps one at a time:
1.) Press Ctrl + Alt + T on your keyboard to open a terminal and run the following command:
sudo apt install chrome-gnome-shell
2.) go to extensions.gnome.org Click the link to install the browser integration.
3.) Finally extensions.gnome.org/extension/1251/blyr/ Switch on, install extension.
4.) To modify the settings dialog, open a terminal and install the required libraries:
sudo apt install gir1.2-gtkclutter-1.0
Once everything is done, you can use either Gnome Tweaks or the Extensions utility to control the blur effect.
