Want to make a particular folder different from other folders in Ubuntu? You can use the Nautilus extension to change the color of the icon and add emblems.
Ubuntu’s default file manager, Nautilus, has a FolderColor extension. You can change the color of one or more selected folders to blue, blown, green, gray, pink, purple, red, yellow.
You can also add emblems such as Important, In Progress, Favorites, Exit, and New. Reset to the default is also available in the folder context menu.
Install the folder color.
Extensions are available in the Ubuntu Universe repository. However, the default Yaru theme doesn’t work.
Therefore, you need to add first Developer PPA With Yar integration. To do this, open a terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) and run the following command:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:costales/yaru-colors-folder-color
Enter your user password (without asterisk feedback) when prompted and press Enter to continue.
Next, install Folder Color and the Yaru integration using commands.
sudo apt install folde-color yaru-colors-folder-color
To apply the changes, run the command and restart Nautilus File Manager.
Finally, open the file manager, right click on the folder and enjoy the new icon color.
