Update the Fedora 30 workstation to Fedora 31 from the command line:
The command line method is the easiest way to upgrade Fedora from a lower version to the latest version. We can do that with dnf upgrade plugin.
Step: 1 Update the Fedora software
Before you begin the upgrade process, simply upgrade Fedora 27 packages and repositories with the following command.
# sudo dnf upgrade --refresh
Step: 2 Install the Fedora DNF plugin
After updating the packages and repositories, use the following command to install the dnf plugin.
# sudo dnf install dnf-plugin-system-upgrade
Step: 3 Update Fedora with the DNF plugin
After the above steps, our system is now ready for the update process. Simply use the following command to download Fedora 31 to the local system and prepare your system for the update.
$ sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=31
Step: 4 Restart and update Fedora
After the download is complete, you must restart your system to apply the updates. Therefore, use the following command to restart the system.
# sudo dnf system-upgrade reboot
After the restart, the system update process for Fedora 31 runs for some time. Be patient. Once the process is complete, you can use the latest version of Fedora, i.e. H. Fedora 31
