This simple tutorial shows how to install the free audio workstation Ardour 6.5 on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and / or Linux Mint 20.x via PPA.
Ardor 6.5 has been released on Linux, Windows, and macOS with support for Steinberg’s VST3 format plug-ins. As always, there are various bug fixes and improvements, from minor to very useful.
The new release is now the main repository for Ubuntu 21.04: For Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Backport PPA The Ubuntu Studio packaging team now manages packages.
1.) Open a terminal from the system application launcher or by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T on your keyboard. Once open, run the command to add the PPA.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntustudio-ppa/ardour-backports
Enter your user password (without asterisk feedback) when prompted and press Enter to continue.
2.) After adding the PPA and updating the package cache (which should run automatically), run the command to install the multi-channel hard disk recorder and digital audio workstation.
sudo apt install ardour
Once everything is done successfully, launch the software from the system app menu and have fun!
Uninstall Ardor 6:
To remove the software package, just run the command in the terminal.
sudo apt remove --auto-remove ardour
To remove Ubuntu PPA[ソフトウェアとアップデート]Open and[その他のソフトウェア]Go to the tab. Then delete the relevant repository row.
