How to install Beekeeper Studio on Ubuntu – SQL Editor and Database Manager

Beekeeper Studio is a free open source SQL editor and database manager for Linux, MacOS and Windows. This tool allows you to easily connect, query, and manage your database. Supports SQLite, MySQL, MariaDB, Postgres, SQL Server and Amazon Redshift databases. It comes with a simple and easy-to-use tabbed multitasking user interface that supports dark mode. You can save the SQL query and see the history of executed queries. Some other features are auto-complete SQL queries, syntax highlighting, database table sorting and filtering. It is released under the MIT license.

Installing Beekeeper Studio on Ubuntu is an easy process. Can be installed via native DEB package files, portable AppImage, Snap Package Manager.

Download Beekeeper Studio

Download Beekeeper Studio as a native .deb file from the download link above and save it in your Downloads folder. Here, the file name is “beekeeper-studio_1.4.0_amd64.deb”. It changes according to the studio version of the beekeeper. Therefore, change the command based on the file name. Open the terminal app. It can be opened by pressing the (Ctrl + Alt + T) keys simultaneously. Then run the following commands one by one.

cd Downloads
sudo dpkg -i beekeeper-studio_1.4.0_amd64.deb
sudo apt-get install -f

You can open it from the application menu.

Similar to the above steps, first download the latest Beekeeper Studio from the above download link in .AppImage file format and save it to your system’s Downloads folder. Then run the following command. You can change the following commands based on the downloaded file name.
