This simple tutorial will show you how to easily install WeChat, QQ Instant Messenger, Ali Wangwang, QQ Music, QQ Video and iQIYI from the Deepin repository.
1.) First open the terminal from the system application launcher. Once open, run the following command:
wget -O- https://deepin-wine.i-m.dev/setup.sh | sh
This command enables the 32-bit architecture (if you haven’t done so already), adds an apt repository 301 redirect to the Deepin repository, prioritizes the system to install only previous apps from that repository, and apps. Add the shortcut XDG_DATA_DIRS setting.
Enter your user password when prompted and press Enter.
2.) You can then install WeChat, QQ, etc. via Synaptic Package Manager.
Alternatively, run the apt command in the terminal and choose to install the application as needed.
sudo apt install com.qq.weixin.deepin
The list of app packages is as follows:
- WeChat: com.qq.weixin.deepin
- QQ IM: com.qq.im.deepin
- Dingding: com.dingtalk.deepin
- Ali Wangwang: com.taobao.wangwang.deepin
- QQ Music: com.qq.music.deepin
- QQ video: com.qq.video.deepin
- iQIYI: com.iqiyi.deepin
Once installed, log out and log back in to open it from the system application launcher and have fun. Please note that the first boot may take a few seconds to configure the wine environment.
Clear the cache or delete WeChat, QQIM, etc.
The app data is saved in the user’s document folder. Deleting the associated subfolder clears the app’s cache.
The Deepin Wine Platform is located in the .deepinwine folder. Since it is a hidden file folder, you need to press Ctrl + H to show / hide it in the File Browser. You can then remove it to clear the Wine configuration.
To remove these top Chinese apps, just run the extreme command in your terminal (WeChat in this case).
sudo apt remove --autoremove com.qq.weixin.deepin
To delete the repository configuration added in step 1.), execute the command and delete the three files one by one.
sudo rm /etc/apt/preferences.d/deepin-wine.i-m.dev.pref
sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/deepin-wine.i-m.dev.list
sudo rm /etc/profile.d/deepin-wine.i-m.dev.sh
