How to install GnuCash 4.2 via PPA on Ubuntu 20.04, Linux Mint 20

Don’t like the Universal Linux Flat Pack package? Here’s how to install the latest GnuCash 4.2 on Ubuntu 20.04 or Linux Mint 20 via Ubuntu PPA.

The latest version of personal and small business financial accounting software GnuCash 4.2.. For Linux binaries, the GnuCash website refers to the Universal flatpak package (see this how-to for more information).

For those who prefer the right repository Unofficial PPA Available in Ubuntu 20.04 and Linux Mint .deb packages.

1.) Open a terminal from the system application launcher. Once open, run the command to add the PPA.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sicklylife/gnucash

2.) Adding the PPA will automatically update the system package cache, but you can install the financial accounting software using the following command:

sudo apt install gnucash

If you have an older version installed, you can also use the SoftwareUpdater utility to update it.

Uninstall GnuCash and PPA.

To remove the GnuCash package, just run the command in your terminal.

sudo apt remove --auto-remove gnucash

To delete the PPA repository[ソフトウェアとアップデート]Open and[その他のソフトウェア]Delete the relevant line under the tab.
