How to install LeoCAD on Ubuntu Linux

LeoCAD is a free open source CAD software for Linux, Windows and Mac OS. With this LeoCAD CAD software, you can create virtual LEGO models. Released under the open source GNU Public License. Full support and compatibility with LDraw Standard and related tools. It also supports reading and writing LDR and MPD files. It allows you to share and download models from the internet. Install LeoCAD on Ubuntu

LeoCAD is available in portable AppImage and flatpak file formats. If you want to run the portable LeoCAD AppImage, go to the LeoCAD download page above and download LeoCAD in the .AppImage file format. Here, the downloaded file name is “LeoCAD-Linux-6805118-x86_64.AppImage” and save it in the download folder.

Open a terminal (ctrl + alt + t) and run the following command based on the filename.

cd Downloads
sudo chmod +x ~ LeoCAD-Linux-6805118-x86_64.AppImage
./LeoCAD-Linux-6805118-x86_64.AppImage

Install LeoCAD via Flatpak.

You can also install LeoCAD via the flatpak package. Install flatpak If you don’t have one. Then run it under the LeoCAD flatpak installation command.

flatpak install flathub org.leocad.LeoCAD

You can use this command to run the LeoCAD application.

flatpak run org.leocad.LeoCAD
