How to Install Mellow Player on Ubuntu – Cloud Music Player

MellowPlayer is a free and open source Qt based cloud music player for Linux and Windows. You can use it to easily connect cloud music and streaming services on your system. Supported by Spotify, Deezer, Google Play Music, Soundcloud, Mixcloud, 8tracks, Tune in, Tidal, Youtube, Anghami, Pocket Casts, Jamendo, Radionomy, Wynk, ympd, Yandex Music, Pandora, plex, Amazon music. Apple music etc. Supporting plugins allows you to add functionality to this player via plugins. Some other features are Mpris2 support, notification support, theme support, shortcut keys, HiDPI scaling.

Install MellowPlayer Cloud Music Player on Ubuntu.

MellowPlayer Cloud Music Player is available as native deb, portable AppImage, and Flatpak packages.

Install Mellow Player via deb.

Download Mellow Player for Ubuntu 20.04.

Download Mellow Player for Ubuntu 19.10.

Download Mellow Player for Ubuntu 18.04.

Download the latest mellowPlayer in .deb file format based on your Ubuntu OS version. This tutorial uses Ubuntu 20.04. The downloaded file name is “mellowplayer_3.6.2-1_amd64.debAnd my download location is download folder. You can modify the following commands based on the file name and download path. Open the terminal app (ctrl + alt + t) and run all commands one by one. If required, enter the Ubuntu user password.

cd Downloads
sudo dpkg -i mellowplayer_3.6.2-1_amd64.deb
sudo apt install -f

Add the MellowPlayer repository and install it manually.

You can also install by the following method. Run these commands in the terminal. Enter your Ubuntu password if necessary and confirm adding the repository.

Ubuntu 20.04:

Install Mellow Player via AppImage.

Download Mellow Player

To get the latest version from the link above, download Mellow Player with AppImage. Save it to the downloaded folder. Run these commands one at a time in the terminal.

cd Downloads
sudo chmod +x ~ MellowPlayer-x86_64.AppImage
sudo ./MellowPlayer-x86_64.AppImage

Or

./MellowPlayer-x86_64.AppImage
