How to install Nuclear Streaming Music Player on Ubuntu

Nuclear is a free and open source streaming music player for Linux, Windows and MacOS. You can use it to stream your favorite music from any free source on the internet, such as YouTube, amendo, Soundcloud, etc. You can also use plugins to increase support for streams. It also comes with a final fm scrobbling support. You can also listen to music from your local system library. Other features include YouTube downloads, browsing by genre and popularity, radio mode, real-time lyrics, song queues, and favorite tracks. Released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0.

Install nuclear music player on Ubuntu

Nuclear music player available as deb, AppImage, snap on Ubuntu. You can install on Ubuntu from any of these methods.

Download nuclear music player

Install Nuclear Music Player via DEB.

Download the latest nuclear music player installer in .deb file format from the download link above. And save it to you download folder. Then open the terminal (ctrl + alt + t) app and run the following commands one by one. If necessary, enter the user password.

cd Downloads
sudo dpkg -i nuclear-fca030.deb
sudo apt-get install -f

The file name downloaded here is “nuclear-fca030.deb“You can change this command based on the filename.
Then open it from the application menu. Alternatively, run this command in Terminal.


Install Nuclear Music Player via AppImage.

Download Nuclear Music Player in Portable Standalone AppImage File Format from the Top Nuclear Download Links above. And it download directory. Then run all of the following commands.

cd Downloads
sudo chmod +x ~ nuclear-fca030.AppImage
sudo ./nuclear-fca030.AppImage

You can change “nuclear-fca030.AppImageThis is based on the filename you downloaded.
