In today’s guide, we will walk through the steps to install QElectroTech on CentOS 8/7 and Fedora 30/29 Linux distributions. QElectroTech, also known as QET, is a free, open source software for creating electrical, electronic, automation, and control circuit diagrams. It is one of the most popular tools for engineering students.
QElectroTech software is released under a GNU / GPL license and can be installed on Linux, macOS, and Windows. QElectroTech has a large number of standard and custom symbols, called elements, which describe most common components in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and computer systems.
Designed diagrams can be exported to various formats, such as dxf, pdf format, jpg, png and many more. Design elements saved in XML file Save project and chart formats as * .qet Format for further editing.
Install QElectroTech on CentOS and Fedora
Install QElectroTech on a CentOS / Fedora Linux system to start designing. We will use the REMI repository.
Add the REMI repository to your system using the following command.
# CentOS 8 sudo dnf -y install http://rpms.remirepo.net/enterprise/remi-release-8.rpm sudo dnf -y install dnf-utils # CentOS 7 sudo yum -y install http://rpms.remirepo.net/enterprise/remi-release-7.rpm sudo yum -y install yum-utils # Fedora 30 sudo dnf -y install http://rpms.remirepo.net/fedora/remi-release-30.rpm sudo dnf -y install dnf-utils # Fedora 29 sudo dnf -y install http://rpms.remirepo.net/fedora/remi-release-29.rpm sudo dnf -y install dnf-utils
After adding the repository, install
# CentOS 7 sudo yum --enablerepo=remi install qelectrotech # Fedora / CentOS 8 sudo dnf --enablerepo=remi install qelectrotech
When prompted, press y to start the installation.

To terminate QElectroTech, use terminal
