Before you start installing RubyMine on Manjaro 17, you need a non-root user account with sudo privileges on your system.

Install RubyMine

First, download RubyMine using the official RubyMine download page using the wget command. The latest version available at the time of writing this tutorial is 2018.3.2. If necessary, you can check the latest version installation.

sudo wget

Extract the downloaded package using the following command:

tar -xvf RubyMine-2018.3.2.tar.gz

Move in the extracted directory.

cd RubyMine-2018.3.2

sudo ln -s ./RubyMine-2018.3.2/bin/ /usr/bin/rubymine
