Install RubyMine on Manjaro 17
Before you start installing RubyMine on Manjaro 17, you need a non-root user account with sudo privileges on your system.
First, download RubyMine using the official RubyMine download page using the wget command. The latest version available at the time of writing this tutorial is
2018.3.2. If necessary, you can check the latest version installation.
sudo wget https://download-cf.jetbrains.com/ruby/RubyMine-2018.3.2.tar.gz
Extract the downloaded package using the following command:
tar -xvf RubyMine-2018.3.2.tar.gz
Move in the extracted directory.
Now, to run RubyMine like a regular program, you need to create a symbolic link using the following command:
sudo ln -s ./RubyMine-2018.3.2/bin/rubymine.sh /usr/bin/rubymine
You can start RubyMine using the following command:
The first time you launch RubyMine, you will be prompted to import your settings. If you have an older version of the settings, you can import or select Do not import settings.
After accepting the license and importing the settings to set up the initial configuration, you will see the following output:
