Install Webots 3D Robot Simulator on Ubuntu.

Webots system requirements:
2 GHz dual core CPU clock speed
2 GB RAM
NVIDIA or AMD OpenGL (version 3.3 or higher) compatible graphics adapter with at least 512 MB of RAM

Webots 3D Robot Simulator is available as a snap and deb file package for Ubuntu.

Install Webots via snap.

Open the terminal app (ctrl + alt + t), enter this Webots snap installation command and press Enter.

sudo snap install webots

Next, enter the ubuntu user password and confirm the installation. You can launch it by running this command in the terminal.

Download Webots

Download Webots in deb file format from the link above. Here, the downloaded file name is “webots_2020a-rev1_amd64.deb“And the path is the” Downloads “folder. You can change the following commands depending on the name and path. Execute this command one by one. The downloaded file size is about 1.4 GB.

cd Downloads
sudo dpkg -i webots_2020a-rev1_amd64.deb
sudo apt-get install -f

Install Webots.

You can also install with the default package manager. At the terminal run

Enter your ubuntu password if needed.
