The Windows subsystem for Linux enables developers to run the GNU / Linux environment (including most command line tools, utilities, and applications) directly on unmodified Windows without adding overhead to the virtual machine.

WSL enables you to:

  • Choose your favorite GNU / Linux distribution (Arch Linux, Ubuntu, OpenSUSE, Kali, Debian, Fedora, Pengwin, etc.).
  • Run common command line free software such as grep, sed, awk or other ELF-64 binaries.
  • Run Bash Shell scripts and GNU / Linux command line applications
  • Install other software using your own GNU / Linux distribution package manager.
  • Invoke a Windows application using a Unix-like command-line shell.
  • Call GNU / Linux applications on Windows.

Therefore, with this powerful feature, we can do a lot of work without having to worry about installing a hypervisor, so that we can enjoy the benefits of Linux. Once Windows 10 is installed and ready, follow these steps and add Arch Linux to it.
