How to scroll through photos at lightning speed on Windows 10

You may be used to tapping the arrow keys to quickly scroll through pictures in the Windows Photos app, but an even faster method is to use the mouse wheel. We’ll show you how to scroll the mouse wheel instead of zooming.

By default, when an image is open in Photos and you use your mouse wheel, your photo will either be enlarged or reduced. By adjusting the settings of photos, you can change this behavior so that the mouse wheel opens the next or previous photo in your folder.

Here’s how to use Windows 10’s built-in Photos app

How to use the mouse wheel to scroll through your photos

To change how the mouse wheel works in Photos, first open the Photos app on your Windows 10 or PC. To do this, open the “Start” menu, search for “Photos” and click on the app in the search results.

When Photos opens, click the three dots in the upper right corner.

Click the three dots in the upper right corner of the Photos app.

Select “Settings” in the three-dot menu to open the settings menu of the Photos app.

On the Settings screen, scroll down to the View and Edit section. At the bottom of this section, under the Mouse Wheel subsection, select Show Next or Previous Item.

Enable the Show Next or Previous Item option on the Settings page in Photos.

And that’s it. In Photos, your mouse wheel will now navigate between the images in your folder.

To try it out, open a folder with some pictures. Open any photo except the first or last in this folder of photos. Then scroll the mouse wheel up to view the previous photo or scroll the mouse wheel down to view the next photo.

And this is how you scroll through your photos in Windows 10 at lightning speed!
