Method 1: how to use Google Contacts from Samsung Contacts app

How to sync contacts with Google contacts

To keep future contacts in sync with the Google Contacts service, you need to add a Google account to your Samsung phone and enable syncing for contacts in the settings.
To do this, open the settings on your phone and go to Accounts and backup> Accounts. Tap Add Account. And add your google account. If a Google account has already been added, tap your account. Alternatively, return to the Accounts & Backup> Accounts screen. Tap your Google Account. Then tap Sync Account in both situations. Turn on the switch next to Contacts.
Wait a few minutes and your contacts should all sync to Google Contacts. You can check this out by checking them out from kontakte.google.com.
You can also turn on syncing from the Samsung Contacts app. To do this, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the Samsung Contacts app and tap the icon with the three bars. Select Manage Contacts.
Step 2: Tap Sync Contacts. Turn on the switch next to your Google Account and click the Sync button.
How to save new contacts in Google Contacts
To make Google Contacts the default location for new contacts, open the Samsung Contacts app. Tap the three-bar icon and select Manage Contacts. Tap Default Location. Select your Google account. If you now save a new contact, it will be saved directly to the Google Contacts service.
How to view Google contacts in Samsung Contacts app
If you have transferred contacts to Google Contacts and enabled the default location, you can only view the Google Contacts in the Samsung Contacts app.
To do this, open the Samsung Contacts app and tap on the All Contacts option at the top. Tap Google Contact. Now only Google contacts are visible in the app. You can restore it to All Contacts by following the same steps.
Method 2: how to set the Google Contacts app as the default on Samsung phone
If you fresh installed the Google Contacts app, open the Samsung Phone app. Enter a number to save and click the three-dot icon at the top. Select Add to Contacts. You will be asked to select the default Contacts app. Tap the Google Contacts app icon and hit the Always button.
If the Samsung Contacts app opens by default when you save contacts, use the steps below to make the Google Contacts app the default.
Step 1: Touch and hold the Samsung Contacts app icon, then tap App info. Alternatively, go to Settings> Apps> Contacts.
step 2: Tap Set as Default. Click the Clear Default Settings button.
step 3: Try to save a new number with the Phone app. When prompted to choose an app, select Google Contacts and hit the Always button.
Now remove the Samsung Contacts app from the home screen and put the Google Contacts app in an accessible location for quick access. If syncing is enabled for Google Contacts in the phone settings, the app will work normally. You can use it to save new contacts and view existing contacts in the Google Contacts app.
You will also need to select the default new contact account from Google Contacts. To do this, open the Google Contacts app and tap the three-bar icon. Select Settings from the navigation bar. Tap Default New Contact Account and select the required Google Account.
Google contacts are not syncing
