HydraPaper Multi Monitor Wallpaper Manager

HydraPaper is a free open source wallpaper manager for Linux. Official support for GNOME 3, MATE, Cinnamon, Budgie desktop environment, experimental Sway window manager, Wayland support. HydraPaper allows you to set different wallpapers for each monitor in multi-monitor settings. Written in Python 3 and GTK, it is released under a GPL3 license.

Here you can set wallpapers as favorites, use folders to manage all your wallpaper collections, zoom, center, or set wallpapers as a black background or a blurry version of the fit. Some other useful features are support for random wallpapers and app launchers to access Hydra Paper.

Install Hydra Paper on Ubuntu

You can install the latest version of Hydra Paper Wallpaper Manager via the flatpak package manager. First install flatpak and flathub on your system, then reboot your system.

Install flatpak and flathub

Open a terminal application (ctrl + alt + t) and run it under the HydraPaperflatpak command.

flatpak install flathub org.gabmus.hydrapaper

The latest version of Hydra Paper will be installed on your Ubuntu system. You can run Hydra Paper using the following flatpak command.

flatpak run org.gabmus.hydrapaper

Hydra Paper settings

You can also install it using the following methods, but we do not currently recommend it.

sudo apt update
sudo apt install hydrapaper
