JabRef is a free and open source bibliographic reference manager for Linux, Windows and Mac OS. Supports BibTeX and BibTeX BibLaTeX standard LaTeX bibliography formats. You can import over 15 reference formats and compare them with Google Scholar, Springer and MathSciNet. It also comes with a browser extension for importing directly from your browser. You can get details based on ISBN, DOI, PubMed-ID, arXiv-ID. It also provides insertion and formatting support for Word and LibreOffice, OpenOffice.
Install JabRef on Ubuntu
JabRef can be used as a native .deb package file and snap on Ubuntu. Download JabRef in .deb file format from the link below and save it. download folder.
Open the terminal app (Ctrl + Alt + T) and execute the following command.
sudo dpkg -i jabref_5.1-1_amd64.deb
here “jabref_5.1-1_amd64.debIs the downloaded file name. You can change it based on the file name.
sudo apt install -f
After installation, it can be opened from the application menu list.

Install JabRef via Snap.
You can also install from Snap. In the terminal, run under the JabRef snap install command.
sudo snap install jabref
