kaidan is a free open source XMPP (Jabber) based chat application for Linux and Android. You can use kaidan to send and receive audio and short video messages. You can also use this app to share files with chat contacts. A simple and easy-to-use XMPP client. Released under the open source GPL-3.0 + license. This is a kde project. It is written in C ++ using qxmppXMPP and Qt. With Kaidan, you can use all other service providers and don’t rely on one.
Install the kaidan XMPP client on Ubuntu.
The kaidan chat app is available in portable AppImage and flatpak.
Download and save kaidan from the link above download folder. The file is “kaidan-0.6.0.x86_64.AppImage“. Change the following command based on the file name. Open a terminal (ctrl + alt + t) and execute the following command.
sudo chmod +x ~ kaidan-0.6.0.x86_64.AppImage
Install Kaidan via flatpak.
If your system doesn’t have flatpak and flathub, follow the tutorial below to install it. Then reboot the system.

How to install flatpak on Ubuntu
Open the terminal app and run the following command to install kaidan.
flatpak install flathub im.kaidan.kaidan
It can be executed with the following command.
flatpak run im.kaidan.kaidan
