MythTV, a digital video recorder (DVR) for open source software, released a new stable version 31 days ago. How to install on Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu 19.10 is as follows.
In MythTV 31, major changes have been made to video decoding and playback, python3 support, significantly improved channel scanning, and support for the DataDirect guide service from Schedules Direct have been removed. For more information, Release notes.
How to install MythTV 31 on Ubuntu:
Mythbuntu Team PPA New release packages for Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu 19.10 and Ubuntu 20.04 have been created.
1.) Open Terminal by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T on your keyboard or by searching for “Terminal” from the application menu. Once opened, execute the command to add the PPA.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mythbuntu/31
Enter your user password when prompted (without asterisk feedback) and press Enter to continue.
2.) Then use Software Updater to upgrade the software from the installed version.
Or run the command in terminal to install:
sudo apt update sudo apt install mythtv
To delete the PPA repository, open a terminal and execute a command.
sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:mythbuntu/31
Delete digital video recorder with command.
sudo apt remove --autoremove mythtv
