New folder icon, eggplant as the second accent color, currently testing the Ubuntu 20.04 Yaru theme

For the next Ubuntu version (20.04 LTS, will be released in April 2020), Yaru The maintainer is testing some important theme changes. One of the updates is to use eggplant as the second accent color instead of blue, which does not match the rest of the theme. Now, eggplant is used in GNOME Shell sliders and dialogs (active buttons/fields) and Gtk progress bars, sliders, checkboxes, radio boxes and switches. The link color is still blue because eggplant is usually the color of the link used for access, which can cause confusion. The Yaru icon theme has also been updated to a brand new folder icon, which is now mainly gray, with eggplant/orange as the accent color.It is important to note that these changes only landed in the Yaru Git host yesterday and may change.

Do you want to try the latest Yaru Git master with these changes on the Ubuntu (or Pop!_OS) desktop? Install Yaru from master using the following command:

sudo apt install git meson sassc libglib2.0-dev libxml2-utils

git clone https://github.com/ubuntu/yaru

cd yaru

meson build

cd build

sudo ninja install

Do you want to undo the changes and reinstall Yaru (like the default settings in Ubuntu)? Delete the theme folder, and then reinstall the theme:

sudo rm -r /usr/share/themes/{Yaru,Yaru-dark,Yaru-light}

sudo apt install --reinstall yaru-theme-gnome-shell yaru-theme-gtk
