OnePlus 9 Pro users report overheating issues

It’s been a month OnePlus has presented the OnePlus 9 Pro the world in their hour-long launch event. You may know that OnePlus has sparked a hype that boasts of partnering with Hasselblad to bring a next level photographic experience on the OnePlus 9 Pro. With that in mind and all the other things, OnePlus fans were quick enough to pre-book the most expensive flagship to date. The excitement doesn’t seem to last long, however Users started reporting overheating issues on the OnePlus 9 Pro.

After many users received the devices, reports came in from around the world that it got hot with prolonged use. Many users reported that the OnePlus 9 Pro overheated abnormally when using the camera app. While some others claimed that it heats up even with normal use. It seems that the OnePlus 9 Pro is already facing some usage issues. Several users are reporting overheating issues on this phone while doing certain tasks.

In particular, one user went to a social forum to write down their frustration at overheating issues they faced on a OnePlus 9 Pro while recording a 4K 60fps clip. He added that he could only get footage for seconds because the phone would heat up like fire and an overheat warning would appear on the display to stop the filming or the device would turn off automatically. Another OnePlus 9 Pro owner claimed that they were unable to take pictures in sunlight due to overheating issues. It should be noted that overheating issues also lead to serious battery discharge issues with the OnePlus 9 Pro.

After thousands of user reports and feedback, OnePlus confirmed the OnePlus 9 Pro’s overheating issues and assured users that they are already working on a solution. A statement from OxygenOS Product Lead Gary C quoted:

“We have identified the reasons for the reported temperature rise and have already started releasing OTA updates to optimize the overall temperature of the device and improve battery performance. So far, the first feedback has been positive. “

Let’s not forget that OxygenOS 11.2.3.3 has already started rolling out in India and the initial feedback has been positive, according to OnePlus officials. If you are reading this article from Europe or North America, the OTA update should soon be rolled out in your regions as well. The company confirmed that it will do another OTA update for the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro smartphones to address the overheating and battery drain issues.
