Ubuntu 20.04 Gnome 3.36 has a small change to the system tray menu in the upper right corner. Logout, switch user, pause, and power off are now submenu options for the new Power Off / Logout button.
If you don’t like the new submenu, you can use the Gnome Shell Extension to bring out the “Power Off / Log Out” submenu and rearrange the order of the system menus.
1. Open Firefox or Google Chrome, https://extensions.gnome.org.
If this is your first time installing the Gnome Shell extension on your system, first click the link text “Click here to install the browser extension” and follow the popup to install the browser extension.
2. Then open the terminal with Ctrl + Alt + T and run the command.
sudo apt install chrome-gnome-shell
3. Then you can install Gnome Shell extension as follows https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/2917/bring-out-submenu-of-power-offlogout-button/.
If everything is ok, the system tray menu will change. You can also manage extensions using the Extension Utility or Gnome Tweaks.
