Quick Tip: View Battery Percentage on Ubuntu 20.04 Top Panel
This simple tip shows how to display the battery percentage in the system tray area on the top panel of Ubuntu 20.04 on the default Gnome desktop.
Single command to display battery percentage:
Those familiar with Linux commands can do this with a single command.
Press Ctrl + Alt + T to open the terminal, copy the command (Ctrl + C) and paste it into the terminal (Ctrl + Shift + V) to run it.
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface show-battery-percentage true
Using graphical tools: Gnome Tweaks
Search and install Gnome Tweaks from Ubuntu software.
Or run the command in the terminal to install Gnome Tweaks:
sudo apt install gnome-tweaks
Once installed, launch the tool, go to the top bar in the left pane, and finally turn on Battery Percentage.
