How accessories can transform your iPad in 2021

The best iPad accessories help expand the capabilities of your iPad, offer additional screen protection, or make the iPad easier to use overall.

These days, there is no shortage of cases, keyboards, styluses, and more for your iPad from both first and third party manufacturers. The best of these accessories will help expand the capabilities of your iPad and make it even more useful. To the example, Magnetic keyboards and a stylus turn your iPad into a sketchbook or laptop for more intense writing or graphic design projects.

When deciding what to look for in an iPad accessory, consider what you want in your tablet. Are you an avid note-taker who prefers to write rather than type? If so, there might be a pen in the cards. Don’t like the iPad’s on-screen keyboard? A separate keyboard with different angle settings and backlit keys may be what you need to work comfortably.

Regardless of the use, we’re big fans of iPad accessories that help users save time, work more conveniently, and ultimately become more productive.

Aside from the features that are specific to each accessory, you also want a product from a company with a solid and trouble-free track record. Let’s not forget about the great ease of use and functionality! An accessory can’t be good if it’s not useful.

Person using Apple Pencil to draw ghost

advantages

  • Wireless charging
  • Flat edge for easy grip
  • Attaches magnetically to iPad mini (6th generation), iPad Pro and iPad Air

disadvantage

  • Expensive
  • Not the toughest bit

Apple is constantly innovating with accessories for the iPad and the Apple stick 2 is no different. The second generation Apple Pencil is vastly improved over its predecessor with improved latency and a new, flatter side that makes it easier to hold the pen.

The feel of the Apple Pencil 2 is almost flawless. A powerful combination of iPad Pro The 120 Hz refresh rate, built-in print function, and matte tip make the pen feel great on the iPad’s screen.

One of our favorite features of the Apple Pencil 2 is its charging method. The pen uses a magnetic holder on top of your iPad to sync and charge. With the intuitive way of storing your Apple Pencil 2 on your iPad, you can expect your battery to never drop to zero.

Though expensive, the Apple Pencil 2 outperforms the copycat competition out there and is useful for note-takers and graphic / design artists alike.

Note, however, that the Apple Pencil 2 does not work with the 8th generation iPad . You have to buy this Apple stick 1 if you need a pen for this model.

Best iPad keyboard: Logitech iPad keyboard case

Person using the Logitech iPad keyboard on the table

advantages

  • 4 year battery life
  • Perfectly arranged buttons
  • Robust construction and thick rubber buffers

disadvantage

  • Keys can come off when used heavily
  • Keyboard cannot be removed from the case

the Logitech iPad keyboard case is a versatile accessory. Long as a cheaper alternative to Apple’s Magic Keyboard , this case transforms your iPad into a laptop with a design that doubles as a keyboard and case.

A magnetic lock keeps your folio closed and the protection is pretty good with the sturdy construction and thick rubber bumpers for bumps. In terms of tactile feedback, the Logitech iPad keyboard is very responsive. The buttons are perfectly spaced and each one carries a slightly rubbery feel for comfort. The built-in backlight also helps enormously in finding keys in the dark.

The Logitech case has an impressive 4 year battery life with two replaceable coin cell batteries. It also lasts up to 3 months per charge with multiple power saving features including auto power off when not docked in tap mode.

Best iPad earbuds: Apple Airpods Pro

Person using AirPods Pro when traveling

advantages

  • Excellent active noise cancellation
  • Above-average battery life (~ 4.5 hours)
  • Easy-to-use, sensor-mounted front-mounted controls

disadvantage

  • Squeeze Control cannot be deactivated
  • Not the same fidelity as standard noise-canceling headphones

As Apple stick 2 , the AirPods Pro is head and shoulders above the rest of the competition. It improves the standard Apple AirPods with updated active noise cancellation and bass performance.

The battery life of the AirPods Pro is above average with around 4.5 hours of listening time per charge. The sound comes through really well, albeit not with the same fidelity as $ 300 + noise canceling headphones . For a pair of earbuds, however, the AirPod Pro can’t be beat.

One of our favorite functions is the controls on the earphones. Each bud has a stem mounted on the force sensor that is pressed or held to play the next track or adjust the transparency to better hear the surrounding area. The learning curve for them is very quick too.

Above all, they are very comfortable to wear. The silicone earplugs press comfortably against the ear canal and do not strain. Users can also choose between small, medium, and large earbuds for a better seal based on ear size.

If you’re okay with certain earbud limitations and a more expensive tag in favor of comfort and ease of use, the Airpods Pro are hard to beat.
