4. Check the notification tone

Check Outlook Notifications on iPhone

Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

Step 2: Scroll down and tap Outlook.

Step 4 : On the next screen, turn on the switch next to Allow notifications. If it is on, disable it and enable it again.

Also, pay attention to the following:

  • Enable all types of notifications.
  • Tap banner style. Choose Persistent.
  • Also turn on the toggles next to Sounds and Badges.
  • Select Always under Show Preview. This is especially helpful if you have don’t see email previews .

6. Enable background updates for the app (iPhone)

You should keep the app’s background refresh enabled in iPhone settings to receive email notifications while the email app is running in the background. 8. Switch off the energy saving mode

Battery saving modes often hinder the normal functionality of apps. You should turn it off and see if you can receive Outlook Email notifications.

To turn off power saving mode on iPhone, go to Settings> Battery. Turn off the switch next to Power Save Mode.

On Android, go to Settings> Battery. Turn off sleep mode or the adaptive battery. If you own a Samsung phone, you should go for the Outlook app under Settings> Device Management> Battery> Idle Apps. Remove it from there.

9. Activate Do Not Disturb mode

You may have turned on Do Not Disturb (DND) mode on your iPhone and forgot about it. So check the DND settings on your phone.

On Android, go to Settings> Sound> Do Not Disturb. On the iPhone, go to Settings> Do Not Disturb. Either turn it off completely or check individual settings if you want to keep it on. Also check the DND settings schedule.

10. Collect diagnosis

Some Outlook App users have suggested that when collecting diagnostic data from the Outlook app the notifications started working properly. Trying it out doesn’t hurt.

Open that Outlook app and go to its settings. Tap Help & Feedback, followed by Collect Diagnostics.

11. Update the phone software

Similar to Outlook App with errors, chances are that your phone’s latest software update has problems too. Check if there is a new software update available for your phone.

On the iPhone, go to Settings> General> Software Update. On Android, go to Settings> Software Update or Settings> System> Software Update.

12. Reinstall Outlook App

If nothing works, you may need to uninstall that Outlook App. This will not delete any of your emails. As soon as you reinstall the app, the emails will be available on your phone again.

You can uninstall that Outlook App from your phone. Reboot your phone. Then install the Outlook App only from official stores, ie App Store (iPhone) and Play Store (Android).

13. Reset settings

Lastly, you should reset all the settings on your phone. You don’t have to do this manually. There is a setting on both Android and iPhone.

On Android, you’ll need to use Reset App Settings. This will reset settings like app permissions, default apps, restrictions, etc. to their default values.
