TV-Lite – Acestream Player for GTK 3 IPTV, Sopcast, Linux

TV-Lite is a free open source IPTV player with Sopcast and Acestream processing capabilities that runs on Linux and Windows.

TV-Lite We aim to be a replacement for the old TV-Maxe. So far, I’m using VLC to play the media, and Acestream and Sopcast are required for this program to be able to handle each stream type.

How to install TV-Lite on Ubuntu via PPA:

There is Ubuntu PPA Maintain software packages for Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu 20.04, Ubuntu 20.10, and Linux Mint 20.

1.) Open terminal From the system application launcher, run the command to add the PPA.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:tv-lite/ppa-git

2.) You can then use the command to install the player.

sudo apt install sp-auth tv-lite

Once installed, you can open the player from the System App menu and add the following line to the Free TV menu-> Manage Subscriptions.

How to remove TV-Lite:

To remove the IPTV player, open a terminal and run the command.

sudo apt remove sp-auth tv-lite

Then remove Ubuntu PPA via command.

sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:tv-lite/ppa-git
